The difference between a Ghost and a Warrior
Your personal development and mindset have a lot to do with how you feel and operate day to day. Each month, my company, PLACE, brings in Brendon Burchard, a New York Times bestselling author and the person Forbes has called the world's top high-performance coach. His sessions apply to just about anyone, and August's session left me with some ahas I wanted to pass along.
August's session was titled Your Past is Not Your Future. Brendon shared that most people never give themselves credit for the wins they've had. If you never integrate your past wins into who you are, you move through life like a ghost, disconnected from your own success and unsure of what you're actually capable of. However, if you take the time to internalize your wins, you show up as a warrior instead, grounded in evidence of what you've already survived and accomplished.
There's a big difference between celebrating a win and integrating it. Treating yourself to a gift or celebrating a win with loved ones feels good in the moment, but it doesn't teach you anything. Integration means going back afterward and identifying exactly what you did that made it happen, so you can repeat it on purpose rather than hope it happens again.
If you've made it this far, through everything you've navigated in your life, you've already proven you're capable. The only question left is what you choose to do with that.
